Zooey and I haven’t even been broken up from our boyfriends for more than a month, but she’s been texting me about joining Tinder or OKStupid. She makes some good points about how we really don’t know a whole lot of people in the city and that meeting guys at clubs is stupid.
Those are good points. I hate to think that online dating is the only way to meet people. Zooey meets a lot of people through work. I feel like Ashley and the bartenders and I are becoming good friends.
Zooey says most of her clients are either really old or barely speak any English. And the people she works with apparently have their own little cliques. I’m just not sure that I want my social circle to come from the guy I’m dating. I can’t say that I’m happy being alone. But I have a good excuse working nights. Zooey on the other hand is depressed. She doesn’t want to go out alone, but she also doesn’t want stay home alone either.
Again, my schedule is ruining another relationship.
As a result, Zooey has been going back home to hang out with Taylor (the girl she originally was going to move to the city with) and Zooey doesn’t like it. Therefore, Zooey will start dating so she’ll have something to do in the evenings.
Meanwhile, I’ll keep working nights and growing my nest egg. Oh, and I’ll start an online profile to support Zooey and just see what happens.
