Zooey’s moving into her new apartment August 1st. With Taylor. I decided at the last minute yesterday night while I was scrubbing the dishes so I could have a clean plate that I would rather live with Zooey. I texted her but she told me that Taylor already agreed. Then Zooey was like, “I can tell Taylor no, or we can find a 3 bdrm” and I told her never mind. As long as she has a roommate. And then I gave her all the reasons why I should stay with Johnny.
So I’m bummed. I really liked Zooey’s place. But it was too far to walk to work. I’d have to take the bus or my car. Oh well. 😦
Where did July go? I can’t believe it’s almost over! Zooey found a really cute place yesterday. It’s expensive, it’s on the first floor, it’s really narrow, but it has a little backyard, two bedrooms, and two parking spaces. But best of all—it’s clean! The appliances and floors are all new, there’s a washer and dryer, and central air conditioning.
Zooey loves it! She’s already planning on where to put all of her stuff. She still is offering the other room to me for the same price I’m paying now even though she’ll be paying way more than me. She filled out an application and she said she’ll ask Taylor.
I’m still unsure about moving out. I can’t believe how fast Zooey found a place though. She said she looked at a bunch of them online. The other places we looked at either smelled like Indian food or were really crappy. This is a great place!
I told Johnny what we were doing today and he was a little more concerned that I might move out. But also, other than him dropping off those flowers he hasn’t done much else boyfriend-wise. In fact, he kinda pissed me off when I told him about my parking tickets because he just laughed at me and said “that’s what you get!”
So I’m weighing my options.
Zooey’s on her way over. She just had a job interview at a rehabilitation clinic and she says given her recommendation from her old boss and the fact that the clinic is owed by the same company she works at now, she’s 99% confident she got the job.
I told her I don’t want to move. I JUST moved. Well, technically, Johnny and his friends moved my stuff for me. I just now am feeling like I’m unpacked and settled in.
Zooey is of course begging me to reconsider living with her. She says she needs someone to teach her how to live in the city. And she kept making all these points about how Johnny doesn’t even really want me there since he’s dating T-Bo and Petty. (ha. ha.)
Zooey also makes good money and said she would only charge me what I’m paying now. We could find a place between our two jobs. Blah, blah, blah.
I haven’t even lived with Johnny a month, but it feels much longer than that. I told her that I might want to move again if I find a teaching job. And I don’t want to leave the boys stuck with my share of the rent. Then Zooey pointed out that between the three of them my share of the rent is less than what they spend on one night of drinking.
She makes some good points and she is my best (and only) friend. But maybe that’s why we shouldn’t live together. She’s pretty messy, too. I’m not sure if I could live her.
Zooey says she doesn’t want to live alone or with a stranger. She’s too scared. She has another friend, Taylor, who lives at home and actually commutes into the city. She said she would live with Zooey, but Zooey said the same thing—she’s worried living with Taylor would ruin the friendship and she doesn’t know Taylor that well.
So I’m in a tight spot. I think I’ll stay firm about not moving. It’ll probably depend on the kind of place she finds.
So it has been a couple of days since I’ve moved my car and this morning I thought I would take it to pick up groceries. There were 4 tickets on my windshield! Each for $60 for “PARK OR STAND ON CROSSWALK”!!
I HATE THE CITY!!!
